Progress over outcome.

Are you feeling stuck in your creative process? Do you find yourself obsessing over the outcome of your work instead of enjoying the process? It can be frustrating when you don't get the results you were hoping for and can be discouraging when you feel as though you've put in a lot of effort with little to show for it.

The truth is, focusing too much on the outcome can be detrimental to your creative process. When you obsess over the result, it can cause mental blocks that hinder your flow and make it difficult to progress. It's important to learn how to let go of these expectations and focus on the present.

So, how can you shift your mindset to focus on the process instead of the outcome? Start by dividing your mind into two parts: one that creates and one that observes. Take a step back and watch yourself create. Observe the thoughts and emotions that arise as you create. Hear the inner dialogue. Notice your state of mind.

Are you present in the moment, fully immersed in the creative process? Or is your mind fixated on the imaginary future, fantasizing about the result you are not getting? Perhaps you are focused on the past, judging your progress? Or maybe you are comparing your work to others?

These thought patterns are unhelpful and hold you back. When you attach your self-worth to the result of your work, you can become your own worst enemy. It's easy to identify ourselves with the outcome of our work, but it's important to remember that your creativity should be your blessing, not your curse. Ego is to blame for this mindset - it demands attention and amplifies your past accomplishments while diminishing your present.

The good news is that there is an alternative way of working that appreciates the present and creates with what it has now. When you allow your soul to light the way, you feel grounded and in tune with your emotions. Your thoughts flow naturally, and each iteration holds unique value as a stepping stone in your process. You focus on the art of creation and enjoy the work. Your soul flows through your creations, connecting you with others and widening your reach.

Your creativity becomes your blessing.

So next time you sit down to create, make a mental note of what needs to be done, then ground yourself in the presence and let ideas flow through you. Regard each iteration as a stepping stone to your destination. And enjoy the work.

Starve the ego.
Feed the soul.
